Nokia 5250- Music oriented handset

August 27th, 2010

Nokia has already gathered a lot of popularity in the market for introducing a host of music oriented mobiles. Nokia 5250 is intended to add its own contribution to that popularity.  5250 is a stylish and perhaps a bit masculine phone since it doesn’t have the curvy round corners of iPhone types. It works in tri band GSM frequencies. The device runs the Symbian operating system.

The display unit consists of a 2.8 inch TFT resistive touchscreen which can display 16 million colors. The monitor can display a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. The camera in this phone is 2.0 megapixel sharp and can deliver a maximum photo resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. You can also record high quality QVGA videos at 30 fps.

The music facilities of this handset are worth praise. You have 3D stereo ringtones and FM radio. You can play almost all audio formats in its music player. The 3.5 mm jack makes it possible for you to connect it to better headphones and speakers. Nokia also offers access to its OVI music library which allows you to download numerous MP3s. Moreover, the video player too can play a multitude of video formats like MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV.

There are many other impressive features like emailing in multiple protocols, Bluetooth, GPRS and HTML browser but the big drawback is the absence of 3G support which bars you from enjoying the internet features at high speeds. The 1000mAh Li-ion battery promises to deliver a maximum talk time of 7.5 hours and a standby time of well over 2 weeks.
