Skype Application coming for iPad soon

This might sound like good news for all the iPad users. Soon, the very popular Skype App shall be available on iPad. Skype has announced that they shall be launching an official Skype App exclusively for iPad.

Rick Osterloh, VP of consumer and product design has recently announced in an interview conducted with TUAW that this app shall contain almost all features that are found on the original Skype Application. He didn’t mention any specific release date of this App but said that this app is one of the most interesting apps and most awaited ones for iPad.

This latest application shall be available on the iTunes store. Since iPad has no camera, thus video chat becomes possible through the Bluetooth connection from iPad to iPhone by using iPhone’s camera and then sending images to iPad. The frame rates might not be too great but still work in an okay fashion.

Alpha goal is an app in which you can write down the dream you want to achieve and then upload a picture of how it will look like, steps for achieving it and what activities will hinder the progress of the dream. It has a beautifully designed main page with wooden floor background, shows a tally box for how many goals achieved and shows inspirational quote every time the app is visited. Users can also make a contract with themselves for achieving a goal and this option can also be disabled.

Other than the mission page or the main page there are pages for goals, habits, pictures and steps. Users can also add multiple pictures and make collage of their dreams. So go ahead, download this app and achieve your goal.

Wikibot to provide Wikipedia experience

Apple has released a latest app to quench its user’s thirst of Wikipedia. The experience of accessing Wikibot is as pleasurable as of Wikipedia.

Via the “card” view users can open multiple articles from Wikipedia and the text can also be searched in the current article.  Supported by bookmarks, it also provides a blue bar to show the progress of the article being downloaded.  Even the history of previously viewed articles is provided.

Wikibot also gives its users 3 options to change the theme of the articles which makes it easier to read under various circumstances: – Sepia, Regular and Night. Regular is default black and white, Sepia displays brown on beige and night shows light grey on black. It even provides font options. But it doesn’t display main picture on top of article instead provides a text box with option to view picture.

Tube Downloader enables downloading videos

Tube downloader is there for all of us who love watching videos throughout the day. All of us need some sort of entertainment, and watching videos will never grow old. Tube downloader solves the purpose.

But it comes with a huge drawback. It cannot download videos from one of the biggest video websites i.e. YouTube because of their terms and conditions which prohibits downloading of videos. But there are many more websites. This app has a toolbar at the bottom of the screen with rewind, forward, pause and play buttons.

Users can either just view or download videos and can even organize downloaded videos, as they will all pile up in File manager and can then re-arrange them, rename them according to ones convenience. For private viewing users can even lock them via the available option of pass lock in the settings options.

iPhone has launched a new application to keep you connected to your friends 24/7 via your apple handset. Liike is latest app which is easy to use, hassle free, simple yet jam packed with features.

It’s much easier than the official face book app. Just after you log in, you have all the required information regarding the new wall posts, comments and updates from your friends. A tab at the bottom of the screen enables you to view notifications, news feed, profiles, messages and more. Events you are invited to, your friends, groups you belong and other such options can also be viewed.

What’s more, you can even access your settings. Editing account settings, SMS and e-mail information, password change is also possible. Just spend your time by switching between various available options on your screen and access face book anytime, anywhere even while you are on a move.

Use iPhone as a microphone with Dragon Remote Microphone app

Now users can use their iPhone as a microphone in itself. But only certain people can avail this facility. Dragon NaturallySpeaking application by Nuance’s Communication is a must for using this new application.

Dragon Remote Microphone app is recently launched and it also provides facility of speech recognition for corporate, employees, students, business people and all other segments. Microphone available with the retail version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11.5 need not be used with this application. 4th generation iDevices such as iPhone or iPod touch can be used as microphones in itself.

But this application is launched with certain limitations. As this application doesn’t work with the Mac version of the software. It only functions with the PC. For running this app a Personal Computer or laptop and iPhone should be on the same network and connected with each other via Wi-Fi.

OmmWriter to provide distraction free environment for writing

Herraiz Soto & Co. has launched this new app for iPad called as OmmWriter. This app’s purpose is to provide a distraction free environment for the people who write on their iPad while moving.

This application gives a calming environment by playing soothing music in the background and launching into full screen mode on the iPad immediately. OmmWriter doesn’t use standard keyboard instead it appears on screen on landscape mode. It can be dragged anywhere on the screen and is transparent in nature. Users are accustomed to use QWERTY type keypad but this also application supports QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY formats.

To change the settings a button is provided beneath the keyboard. Fonts, background image/color, music can also be changed. Written documents can also be edited and useless files can also be put into trashcan. In file manager users can keep track of the lists of their documents. Character and word count facility is also provided.
