Karbonn K541 Review

Karbonn 541 is a handy low cost phone coming from Karbonn’s range of inexpensive handsets. K541 weighs only 79 grams and its small bar body spans across 108x47x13 mm. It  does not have the dual SIM setup like many of other Karbonn models. It can operate in GSM networks of 900 and 1800 Mhz frequency.

The display unit of this phone is rather compact with a small 1.75 inch TFT screen (65 K colors). This screen can display a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. It does have a camera which is 1.3 megapixel sharp and can give a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixel. The camera can record low quality videos in 3GP, MPEG and AVI but you won’t have any zoom feature.

The internal memory of K541 is substantially higher than most of Karbonn’s

model which count in kilobytes, but this one having 11MB of it. You can store 1000 phone numbers, 400 SMS and 100 MMS.  The missed, received and dialed number list is also higher at 40 each.  The external memory can be notched up to 2 gigabytes.

Wireless connectivity is facilitated by with both GPRS and Bluetooth. For connecting it to your PC you can use the mini USB port. A WAP browser is also accommodated in its software.  Entertainment value of this model is decent as it can play FM radio and recorded music in mp3, mid, amr and wav format.  The phone has got, quite an ear catching 20 mm loudspeaker.

The battery use in this model is a 700 mAh lithium ion cell which promises a talk time of 2 to 3 hours only, a very big minus indeed. The standby time is also low at 120 hours.

Karbonn K217 Review

Karbonn K217 is one of the many bar shaped handsets in Karbonn ‘s range of budget phones. The phone is very simple and does not have overt features. It would be a good choice for people who use their phones sparingly in ways other than as a communication device. The phone is very light weighing just 75 grams. Its physical dimensions span across 108 x 47 x 13.5 millimeters

One of the good things about this phone is its dual SIM facility. You can use two GSM cards (dual band 900 / 1800 MHz) in this model. The display unit consists of a 1.8 inch 65 K color, CSTN screen. The display resolution is low at 128 x 160 pixels.

K217 comes with a basic VGA camera which can be activated by a single touch and gives 640 x 480 pixel resolution. You can digitally zoom it and use it for recording low quality videos in 3 GP or MP4.

Internal memory is limited to 681 KB. Storage capacity of K217 allows you to save 1000 phone numbers, 500 SMS and 100 MMS. The external memory can be raised up to 4GB although. The single touch FM radio is also capable of recording. You can enjoy music in MP3, MID, IMY, AMR and WAV formats. Through Bluetooth you can very easily transfer music and other files. GPRS and WAP browser allow you to exploit mobile websites. Speaker phone is present in this model as well.

The battery power of this model is just decent enough with 3 hours and 180 hours of talk time and standby time respectively.

Karbonn K330 Review

For people who do not wish to substitute their digital cameras with their mobiles and would like to use it strictly as a communication device, Karbonn K330 might just be the right choice provided the modest price it comes for. K330 has no camera but the battery power is tremendous. It’s very unlikely that your phone will run out of charge in the middle of a conversation as the 1200 mAh Lithium ion cell can deliver an impressive 8-10 hours of talk time. The standby time delivered is 400 hours.

Its display unit consists of a small 1.5 inch CSTN screen which is 65k color capable. The screen gives a resolution of just 128 x 128 pixels.  You have embedded games to aid your time-pass as well as a one touch FM radio which can also work on the loudspeaker. The music player is one of the pluses of this inexpensive phone which can play MP3, MID, IMY, AMR and WAV audio formats seamlessly.

Wireless connectivity is facilitated by GPRS with no Bluetooth. You neither have any USB port so transferring your MP3s can pose a little bit of trouble. The internal memory is limited to 693 KB and you can store 1000 phone numbers and 500 SMS

. You can also send, receive MMS through this phone and can save 686K MMS. The external memory is expandable by 4 gigabytes.

This bar bodied phone weighs just 85 grams and is small shaped at 104x44x14.8 mm. K330 has dual SIM facility (dual standby) and you can use two double band GSM cards in this phone (900 / 1800 MHz)

Karbonn KC750 Review

Karbonn KC750 is one of the high end stylish models from Karbonn’s repertoire. Its style quotient is greatly enhanced by its considerably larger screen which is a 2.4 inch 262 color capable QVGA type. This bar bodied phone has a host of other noteworthy features too.

KC750 is a dual SIM model (GSM+CDMA). The battery power is also impressive (1050 mAH Li-Ion) but performs differently for GSM and CDMA. In CDMA it can give a talk time of 3.5 hours and 210 hours standby time. But in GSM it can deliver a stupendous 7 hours talk time and 700 hours standby time. Definitely charging won’t be a trouble with this model.

KC750 comes with a3 megapixel camera, good enough for normal use. The camera gives a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and is capable of digital zoom and video recording (MP4 and 3GP). FM radio can be accessed by a single touch and the music player can play a multitude of audio formats (MIDI, MP3, AAC, WB AMR, AAC+, eAAC). KC750 comes with loudspeaker as well.

Wireless connectivity can be achieved by GPRS, for browsing mobile sites with the installed WAP browser and with Bluetooth you can transfer files conveniently. The USB port can be used to physically connect to other devices.

Storage wise KC750 performs at par with other Karbonn handsets. It has a considerably higher internal storage at 25 MB but you can save 1000 phonebook and 500 SMS simultaneously. The external memory can be expanded using a MicroSD card of maximum 4GB space.

Karbonn K1 Review

Karbonn K1 is a heavy duty low cost mobile phone. This bar bodied mobile phone may be very simplistic in it look but it super feature is its 1800 mAh lithium ion battery which can deliver an amazing 50 days of standby time. Its 7.5 hours of talk time is way more than most of the other mobiles in its price range.

K1 also has other features most of which are just decent enough. However one of the big turnoffs is absence of LED flashlight. The other big drawback is its CIF camera. The camera is just 0.1 megapixels with a resolution of only 352x 288 pixels. You can zoom and record videos in MP4 and 3GP format.

K1 is a dual SIM phone and each SIM can work in tri band GSM frequencies (900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz). The display unit of K1 incorporates a 2.0 inch QCIF TFT screen with 65 k color capability. The total internal memory constitutes of 128Mb Nor Flash and 32Mb PSRAM.  You can store 1000 phonebook entries and 500 SMS at a time. Its external memory can anyways be expanded to 4 GB.

Wireless connectivity is facilitated by GPRS and Bluetooth. A WAP browser is also incorporated. For physical connection, you can use the 10 pin mini USB port. Entertainment wise, K1 comes with a handful of features. You have a recording enabled FM radio and a music player with multi format support. Although a headset comes with the kit but this model doesn’t have speaker function. You can grab your own K1 in Red – Black or Silver – Black color combination.

Karbonn K10

Among the various Karbonn’s low cost models, K10 may be the best bet when it comes to price versus features optimization. This bar phone comes with a full fledged QWERTY keypad. The handset weighs 95 grams and is quite flat shaped (111.7x57x13.5mm).  The phone has a dual SIM structure and can accommodate two GSM SIM cards in dual standby mode.

The display unit of this phone incorporates a 2.0 inch QVGA screen which can display 65 thousand colors. The K10 screen gives a superior display resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. With all other features, this model has a 1.3 megapixel camera with deliverable resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels and digital zoom function. You can also record videos in 3GP format.

K10 presents wholesome multimedia experience. First you have the FM radio and then the music player. The music player supports many audio formats such as MP3, MIDI, AMR, and WAV. You also have support for 3GP video playback. The speaker and headset facilitates using the phone privately as well as with others.

K10 model can store 900 phonebook entries and 200 SMS. Its internal memory is small 259 KB but external can be raised to 8 GB. Thus you can save a tremendous amount of music and images in this device. The model supports Bluetooth (A2DP) connectivity as well as GPRS class 12. You can connect it to your PC with USB port. One special thing about K10 is that it provides instant messaging for Facebook, Twitter, eMSN and eBuddy.

Its 900mAh Li-ion battery can power up the device for 2.5 hours and 200 hours, in talk time and standby respectively.

Karbonn KC410 Review

Karbonn KC410 is Karbonn’s CDMA 800 single SIM phone which offers a fair combination of price and features. The model has a bar form factor and simplistic design. Its light 77.6 grams body scales only 105.6×47.4×14.6 mm. The display unit of this phone is made up of a 1.77 inches CSTN screen which can display maximum 65 thousand colors.

This model has got a camera too. Its 0.3 megapixel VGA camera delivers a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and is capable of zoom and video recording. The video formats supported are mpeg-4 and 3GP. The model supports polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

The storage feature of this model is limited to 600 phonebook entries and 300 SMS entries. MMS feature is absent. The phone delivers some good entertainment value with its music player, video player and FM radio. The FM radio and music player can be activated by a single touch. Audio formats that can be played on this device are MP3 and MIDI. This model does come with speaker and headset facility. Surprisingly, you have the Bluetooth function as well to ease your file transfers. Otherwise a mini USB port can also do the job. Embedded games in this model can make a good time-pass.

The battery used in this model is an 800mAh lithium ion battery which can deliver a talk time of 270 minutes max. The standby time delivered is substantially higher at 120 to 200 hours. With correct and competitive pricing this phone can be a super runner among low cost handsets.

Karbonn K310 Review

The Karbonn K310 is another low cost mobile phone to create furor in the markets. Karbonn, a new mobile phone company in India creates a name for itself with the launch of this low-end yet value for money mobile phone.

Although the phone has a few shortcomings, it has enough features to make it worth a buy. The display type is not great with a CSTN type display having an average resolution of 128×128 pixels. The Karbonn K310 has good multimedia features with a stereo FM radio with scheduled recording and Mp3 player that supports all formats like Mp3 and MIDI which proves to be a treat for all the music enthusiasts. The lack of a camera, though to be expected in this low-end phone, is something of a drawback. However the voice recorder offers a bit of a consolation.

The 1200 mAh battery is long-lasting and provides a talktime performance of 6 hours and a standby time of 400 hours alleviating your worry of the battery giving out in the middle of an important task. Other features include speed dialing, and a range of games to keep you entertained. The games are surprisingly of a high quality for a low-end phone.

While the lack of many features in this handset can be a deterrent to you but when compared to the price tag it offers, the handset can be considered as a good decision. Thus if you are looking for a lightweight, sturdy yet elegant model with all the basic communication features, then Karbonn K310 is the right way to go.

Karbonn KC320 Review

For those who wish to use mobile phones strictly as communication device, Karbonn KC320 might be the ideal choice. This is one of the low end handsets from Karbonn’s budget phone series and is low on non-phone features. All said but KC320 may be well ahead of its competitors in that price range.

It’s one of the most basic models by the company and operates at frequencies of CDMA 800 Mhz. Lack of GSM hardware makes other facilities like WAP and GPRS unavailable. This single SIM bar phone weighs as low as 74.5 grams and scales 99.5 x 43.5 x 13.8 mm.

The display unit consists of a small 1.44 inch CSTN screen which can display 65 thousand colors. The display resolution of this screen is limited to 128 x 128 pixels only. KC320 comes with no camera and no video support.  This phone’s basic storage capacity extends to 500 phonebook entries and 300 SMS. External storage can be extended till 2GB.

A slight entertainment value has been added to this model by providing FM radio and music playback support. The music formats which can be played by the single touch music player are MP3 and MIDI. This phone does not have any Bluetooth or USB connectivity and hence transferring your MP3s can be a trouble. This model supports three types of ringtones MIDI, Polyphonic and MP3.

The model is powered by an 800mAh lithium ion battery which can deliver a talk time and stand by time of 180 minutes and 120 hours respectively. It comes in black color and their special feature is that it has mobile tracker function.

Karbonn KC555 Review

If you are planning to buy a not-too-expensive mobile handset with plenty of features, then Karbonn KC555 might be good bet. All of Karbonn’s series feature low cost feature rich mobiles. This model is slightly on the higher side of the price scales. Like many other Karbonn models this phone too has dual SIM function but one of them is GSM and the other CDMA. Measuring 105x46x13 mm, this model is slightly heavier at 99 grams, than other Karbonn models.

This bar phone comes with a 1.3 megapixel one touch camera with a resolution of 1280 X 1024 pixels. The camera is capable of digital zoom and low resolution video recording. The display unit consists of a 65 thousand color capable 2.0 inch QCIF screen with a display resolution of 176 X 330 pixels.

Storage wise, this model can store 1000 phonebook entries, 500 SMS and 100 MMS. Its internal memory is wrapped up in 0.7 MB but through a microSD card you can add extra 4 GB of space. The phone is capable of GPRS and Bluetooth connectivity. You can also surf mobile sites through its WAP browser which will work in GSM connection only. For physical connectivity a mini USB port is also provided.

As an entertainment device, it presents a multitude of features. You have embedded games to enjoy your spare time. There is also a one touch FM radio and music player.
